                       Habitat 

Eastern Blue-Tongued Skinks are native to desert and grassland areas in Australia and New Guinea. Blue-tongued skinks live in leaf litter, or under logs or rocks. They come out in the day to forage for food. The Eastern Blue-Tongued Skink is commonly found in the yards and gardens, where they eat insect pests. 

                                    Fun Facts​​  
  • Males range from 5 - 6’ tall, 150+ lbs, while females: 3 - 4’ tall, 45 - 80lbs
  • Kangaroos can reach speeds of 35 mph and can cover over 20’ in one leap.
  • When a baby kangaroo is born, it is only about 1” long and has no hair. It can not see or hear but has a very good sense of smell which helps it to climb into it’s mother’s pouch where it will stay for 8 - 10 months.
  • Babies are called joes, females are called flyers and males are called boomers. A group of kangaroos is called a mob.
​The red kangaroo is native to much of Australia. It is the largest of the marsupials and the largest land mammal in Australia. Marsupials are mammals that give birth to      underdeveloped young and then carry them, usually in a pouch, while they continue to develop.
